Started as a CE (Customer Engineer) at HP in 1986 in
Aarhus. Together with a colleague, it was supposed to create a new Kolding
office. It started up in late 1986.
Initially, I delivered onsite support on HP3000
systems and related peripherals. In addition, I also made support on the HP250
/ HP260. Unfortunately, the HP3000 was a slightly closed system, so HP-UX began
to grow dramatically.
I started at the HP-UX in the early 90s and worked in
the Major Account group with a focus on large customers. These customers have
all types of HP9000 systems, but primarily the large systems SuperDome, L-Class and N-Class as well as XP storage
systems.
In 2007 I became part of Mission Critical Proactive
Support where I work as Support Automation Technical Country Lead for Denmark.

HP merged with Compaq Computer Corporation in 2002 and
retained the name HP. The new company has one billion customers in 162
countries and was the world's second largest IT company with 145,000 employees
and a total revenue of $ 81.7 billion in 2001. The HP brand ranked according to
Business Week as the world's 14th most valuable.
Following the merger, HP was the market leader in
Windows and UNIX servers, personal computers, imaging and print solutions, data
storage and monitoring software, and number 3 in service. Every year, HP spends
more than $ 30 billion on research and development in 7 centers across the
globe with a total of 800 employees. HP's manufacturing facilities are
similarly located worldwide.
Established in Denmark in 1967, HP is a wholly-owned
subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard Corporation. Following the merger with Compaq on
May 7, 2002, Hewlett-Packard ApS was Denmark's second
largest IT company with 650 employees and a total turnover in 2001 of DKK 5.2
billion.
